Goodbye Uncle Tom is a downright jaw-dropping and surprisingly professional production in the Mondo Cane series. Terrifically shot documentary-style, this bio explores the interaction between the races in modern America. Slavery, Black Rage, White OppressionJacopetti and Prosperi are all showing it uncensored and without mercy. It's repulsive, shocking and the violence subtly get more beneath your skin as opposed to the average teenage horror slasher. The inhumanity of previous generations makes you bow your head in shame. Guided bygd a thrilling Riz Ortolani score (perhaps known best for his Cannibal Holocaust music) Goodbye Uncle Tom shows how black people are being exploited, raped and killed for no reason other than being "inferior". The legacy of Mildred Loving, the real-life protagonist of the critically acclaimed film Loving, will be celebrated this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with the presentation of the inaugural Mildred Loving Community Activism Award during the National Action Networks (NAN) MLK Jr. Day Breakfast on Monday, January 16th.
The Award named for Mrs. Loving will honor a young, unsung hero who has made a difference in their community by championing civil rights and social justice.
Mildred Loving was part of an interracial couple who exemplified courage and commitment. In , she and her husband Richard married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme C
