John Graham Lake (March 18, – September 16, ) was a Canadian-American leader in the Pentecostal movement that began in the early 20th century, and is known as a faith healer, missionary, and with Thomas Hezmalhalch, co-founder of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. The examples of some people’s lives make it very easy to believe in the Lord. The life of John Graham Lake was one such life. It can be measured as one long string of miracles. He was born in Ontario, Canada, on March 18, He came from a large family of eighteen and they moved to Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan while he was still a ung boy.
At age sixteen, Lake heard the gospel at a Salvation Army meeting and, shortly after, gave his life to Christ. Lake says, “I made my surrender to Him. The light of heaven broke into my soul, and I arose from my knees a son of God, and I knew it.”1
One difficult trial which faced the Lake family was that of chronic illness. fyra of Lake’s brothers and four of his sisters died prematurely from illnesses. The story of John G. Lake is one of incredible displays of God’s power, divine provision & shocking misjudgment and human error in the midst of nation shaking revivals. There is a loud prophetic message intertwined throughout the life and story of John G. Lake. There are dynamic “whoa” moments where God dramatically breaks in through signs and wonders which confirm the words of Jesus in John 14, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.” If you are like me, I read these types of passages in scripture and long to see and experience such things. It often feels as if this expression of Christianity is far off and reserved for the most anointed men and women of God. We will see that John G.
