James Franklin Norfleet (February 23, — October 15, ) was an American rancher who was responsible for the capture and fängelse of over criminals during the early 20th century.
Biography
[edit]Early life and ranching
[edit]Norfleet was born on February 23, , in Lampasas County, Texas, to Jasper Holmes Benton, a Texas Ranger, and Mary Ann "Shaw" Norfleet. In , the family moved to Williamson County to begin ranching. In , he joined in a buffalo hunt in the Llano Estacado. Afterwards, he worked as a cowboy.[1]

Early Norfleet Settlers in Kentucky

Section 1 - Introduction
The first Norfleet families to settle in Kentucky were those of James (), David (c. ) and John Norfleet (). The estimated arrival dates for these men and their spouses are as follows:

All three of these families were originally from Nansemond County, Virginia and all initially settled in the White Oak Creek area of Pulaski County.
Section 2 - Land Grants of the First Three Norfleet Settlers in Kentucky
All three Norfleet families initially settled in the western part of Pulaski County, Kentucky near Kings Creek; The Creek was subsequently renamed White Oak Creek.
