Peter Settelen (born 23 September 1951) is a British actor and voice coach, known for helping Princess Diana (1961–1997) improve her public speaking skills. Early life[edit]Settelen was born in London. He worked as an actor, including a role in three episodes of the soap opera Coronation Street, and in an episode of Thriller (1975), before becoming a voice coach.[1] Princess Diana (1961–1997)[edit]He was commissioned between 1992 and 1993 to help Princess Diana develop her public speaking voice,[2] having been introduced to her by her personal fitness instructor, Carolan Brown.[1] Settelen videotaped Diana talking about her private life.& • Peter Settelen (born 23rd September1951 in Battersea, London) appeared on Coronation Street between November and December 1975 as Newton & Ridley executive Warren Coates. His other credits include roles in Harriet's Back in Town, Crown Court, Hell Caesar!, Anne of Avonlea, Huntingtower, The Voyage of Charles Darwin, Flambards, Pride and Prejudice, Connie and the award-winning 1977 rulle A Bridge Too Far. On scen, he appeared in productions of Romeo and Juliet, The Fool, Timon of Athens and Richard III for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other works include The Dame of Sark and The Schoolmistress. Peter also works as a voice coach and in this capacity, he was commissioned in the early 1990s to help Diana, Princess of Wales, to practice speaking in public with sessions conducted at Kensington Palace. | ||||||||||
