    Danny Lyon (born March 16, )[1] is an American photographer[2] and filmmaker.[3]

    All of Lyon's publications work in the style of photographic New Journalism,[4] meaning that the photographer has become immersed in, and is a participant of, the documented subject. He is the founding member of the publishing group Bleak Beauty.

    Daniel Lyons (born ) is an American writer. He was a senior editor at Forbes magazine and a writer at Newsweek before becoming editor of ReadWrite. In March he left ReadWrite to accept a position at HubSpot.[1]

    Lyons began his career with a book of short stories, The Last Good Man (), a novel, Dog Days (), and a fictional biography, Options: The Secret Life of Steve Jobs (). Lyons then began writing non-fiction books: Disrupted: My Misadventure in the Start-Up Bubble (),Lab Rats: How Silicon Valley Made Work Miserable for the Rest of Us () and STFU: The Power of Keeping Your Mouth Shut in an Endlessly Noisy World ().[2]

    Biography

    Brooklyn native Danny Lyon received a BA in history in from the University of Chicago, where he served as personal photographer for the lärjunge Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. A self-taught photographer, he traveled with the Chicago Outlaws motorcycle club in and published his pictures of the club members as The Bikeriders (). Since he has been an independent photographer and an associate at Magnum, and he has made films since Lyon has received Guggenheim Fellowships in photography and filmmaking, and his work has been included in many major exhibitions, including Toward a Social Landscape at the George Eastman House. His first solo exhibition was held at the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to The Bikeriders, Lyon has published a number of photographic books based upon his experiences with a group of people or in a particular place, among them The Movement (), about the Civil Rights movement, and Conversations with the Dead (), a study of life in Texas prisons
