Machel helps 50 teachers qualify in online teaching
The Ministry of Education recognised 50 teachers on Thursday for completing training in online teaching methodologies.
The ceremony took place at the Education Towers, St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain.
The training was provided by Education Solution Specialists Ltd (ESSL), which collaborated with Unicomer Trinidad Ltd and the Machel Montano Foundation for Greatness.
Four of the 50 teachers were present at the ceremony: Kersha Alexis of Toco Secondary, Maria Daley of Siparia Boys' RC; Tinel Chase of Macaulay Government Primary; and Ernisia Guy of Carenage Government Primary.

Machel donates $, to QRC for science lab
Soca star Machel Montano has donated a quarter of a million dollars to Queens Royal College (QRC), to facilitate the reconstruction of the schools science lab.
The announcement was made on Saturday night while Montano was performing at QRCs annual Carnival fete, popularly known as Fete Royale, at the schools St Clair compound.
During his set, Montano paused his performance and called QRC principal David Simon and Old Boys Association president Kenrick Harrinauth on stage. He then presented a promotional cheque and explained to the patrons why he was doing so.

Machel donates 65 devices to Siparia Boys’ RC
Soca king Machel Montano yesterday returned to his Alma Mater, Siparia Boys’ RC School, taking 65 tablets for disadvantaged students.
It was the first time that Montano had visited the school in over 20 years. It was while there he had won the Junior Calypso Monarch in with the song Too Young to Soca, the catalyst for his rise to stardom.
Prancing on the hopscotch boxes in the courtyard, Montano said he was amazed that the school had remained exactly as he remembered it from his childhood years. He walked into his favourite classroom and even sat down on the wobbly desk singing his junior calypso hit.
Accompanied by his mother Elizabeth, Montano said he felt it was important to give back to the school which had shaped his life.
