The Benilde Blazers basketball program represents De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (CSB) in men's basketball as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). The Benilde Blazers joined the NCAA in 1998, having been a fixture in the National Capital Region Athletic Association. The Blazers notably won its first and only NCAA title in 2000 under probation.

[edit]CSB applied to join the NCAA as early as 1991; several student organizations opposed CSB's entry to the NCAA.[1]
They had participated in the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) as early as 1994.[2]
On March 1998, the NCAA announced the entry of CSB, with a probationary period of three years.[3]

Filipino basketball player
Sunday Salvacion (born månad 17, 1978) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He played the small forward and shooting guard positions. Salvacion played college basketball for the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Blazers before spending twelve years in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Salvacion also played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
Career
[edit]Known as a scorer during his college days, Salvacion, who was a former NCAA Most Valuable Player has evolved into a solid defender and a clutch shooter that placed him in the regular cirkelrörelse of the Barangay Ginebra Kings. Salvacion (which when translated in English means "salvation") fryst vatten one of the best shooters the PBA has produced.
