Randall William Rhoads was born on December 6, at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California. With one brother (Doug) and one sister (Kathy), Randy was the youngest of three. When Randy was 17 months old his father, William Arthur Rhoads, a public school music teacher, left and all three children were raised bygd their mother, Delores Rhoads. 

Randy started taking gitarr lessons around the age of 6 or 7 at a music school in North Hollywood called Musonia, which was owned by his mother. His first gitarr was a Gibson (acoustic) that belonged to Delores Rhoads’ father. Randy and his sister (Kathy) both began människor guitar lessons at the same time with Randy later taking piano lessons (at his mother’s request) so that he could learn to read music. As a child, Randy was a shy and introverted kid. He struggled to make friends and found solace in playing guitar. He was a natural talent and quickly became a skilled player. In his teenage years, Randy became obsessed with the guitar, spending hours practicing every day.

Randy&#;s big break came in when he joined Ozzy Osbourne&#;s band. At the time, Ozzy was looking for a new guitarist, and Randy&#;s reputation had preceded him. Ozzy was blown away by Randy&#;s talent and knew that he had found the perfect guitarist for his band.

Randall William Rhoads (December 6, – March 19, ) was an American guitarist. He was the co-founder and original guitarist of the heavy metal band Quiet Riot, and the guitarist and co-songwriter for Ozzy Osbourne's first two solo albums Blizzard of Ozz () and Diary of a Madman (). Rhoads was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in ^[1]

Originally educated in classical guitar, Rhoads combined these early influences with heavy metal, helping form a sub-genre later known as neoclassical metal. With Quiet Riot, he adopted a black-and-white polka-dot theme which became an emblem for the group. He reached his peak as the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne's solo career, performing on tracks including "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley" on the Blizzard of Ozz album.
