Alex was born in Poplar, London, to a British mother with Northern Irish, English and Lithuanian-Jewish heritage and a Jamaican father. She attended Langdon Park School which has been granted Sports College status. At the age of eight she signed for Arsenal; the team she played for, for the majority of her career. Alex also had brief spells at Boston Breakers and Birmingham City before retiring in at the age of Alex earned herself international caps playing for England and a further 5 for Great Britain.
