I suppose you could say I met Sky KID by accident, but when he asked me to feature my own art on his blog, I was quite flattered.
You can call me Treijim. I have a deviantART gallery (the largest), a Sheezyart gallery (the second largest), and many more around the place. My digital work is all done with a mouse, and I’ve been doing such work since 2005, though I’ve really been drawing for my entire life. I have had no training in the specific areas of art I practice. I guess you could say I’m both prolific and obsessed. And to cut to the chase, below are some of my best pieces:
2H, 2B, 8B pencils, 8B Mars Lumograph pencil. 25cm x 39cm cartridge paper (15″ x 9.5″) Around 20 hours. It’s of Josh Hutcherson and based on a scene from Bridge to Terabithia. Simon’s preschool offered a professional photography möte last month wherein the kids were invited to dress up in keeping with one of two themes: Boys were to be clad in a white t-shirt and jeans for a “gone to the fishin’ hole” skott, and girls in fancy purple dresses and wings for a woodland fairy shoot. Faced with this information, Simon declared that he would choose the fairy costume. This seems like a no brainer anyway since a t-shirt and jeans isn’t exactly a costume, and besides, Simon goes actual fishing several times a year. Opportunities to flit about as a magical winged creature komma about less often.
It did not actually occur to me that he might meet any resistance to his program, and in truth, there wasn’t much. The photographer apparently tried repeatedly to sway him toward the “boy stuff,” and some of Simon’s own teachers seemed bemused. This non-profit organization was founded by Dr. Emilia Sarriugarte Doyaga, Dr. Gloria Castresana Waid, and Dr. Juan Mendizabal in 1979 in San Francisco, California with the goal of promoting Basque academic studies in the United States. A few years later, Waid and Mendizabal left the Society to form their own Basque American Foundation in Fresno, California. The Society of Basque Studies in America has continued its mission with Doyaga, Anna Mari Aguirre, and José Ramon Cengotitabengoa leading its numerous international membership, and now also works to disseminate information regarding Basque culture, traditions, customs and folklore to the English speaking audiences of the world. The membership of the Society is open to all who are interested in such topics and it does not function as a traditional Basque center as the euskal etxeak do, but instead is focused on academic research and investigations and the spreading of that information to a larger English spe
