A relatively little-known aspect of the history of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fátima, Portugal concerns a comment made to Sr. Lúcia about a “seventh” apparition. On May 13, 1917, in her first apparition to the three shepherd children, Our Lady stated, “I have come to ask you to come here for six months in succession, on the 13th day, at this same hour. Later on, I will tell you who I am and what I want. Afterwards, I will return here yet a seventh time.”[i] Has this seventh apparition already occurred? We shall look at this matter presently.
Around the year 1997, I was reading Fr. Robert Fox’s book Rediscovering Fatima. Fr. Two problems slowed down this research for a time. One was simply the utmaning to understand true and approved prophesy as well as true and approved apparitions. In this inquiry into the end times, I realized that messages from one apparition frequently contradicted messages from another. One truth that logic and the Church teaches is that God cannot contradi

“Putting up with any sacrifices that are asked of us in our day-to-day lives becomes a slow martyrdom which purifies us and raises us up to the level of the supernatural, through the encounter of our soul with God, in the atmosphere of the presence of the Most Holy Trinity within us. We have here an incomparable spiritual richness!”
~Sister Lucia—quote from her book, Calls from the Message of Fatima
By the Lord’s grace, I knew someone who was acquainted with Sister Lucia and her spiritual legacy in a unique way. This person lived in Fatima and was of great assistance to Sister Lucia and the holy nuns at the convent in Coimbra where Sister Lucia lived. His name was Richard Paul Salbato.
Salbato had close connections with two giants in the Catholic world. As mentioned, he w
