Binodini Dasi also known as Notee Binodini, was a Calcutta-based, Bengali-speaking renowned actress and thespian. She started acting at the age of 12 and ended by the time she was 23, as she later recounted in her noted autobiography, Amar Katha (The Story of My Life) published in 1913.

Binodiini, A Biopic Based On A Theatre Legend To Release Next Year
Producers Shailendra Kumar and Suraj Sharma have reunited for the Bengali movie Binodiini, which is a fictional biography based on Bengal’s theatre legend Binodini Dasi. The movie directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee will star actress Rukmini Maitra. Binodiini will be presented bygd Dev Entertainment.
Commenting on the movie, Rukmini Maitra said, "It's a dream komma true for me. This film would have happened two years ago, but Pandemic changed the entire scenario. Our Entertainment industry suffered the most. With such reputed banners, producers and most importantly Dev coming on board as presenter makes this movie a magnum opus indeed."
Bengal's Superstar Dev said, "I as a creative individ wanted to extend my gratitude towards a prestigious subject like Binodini Dasi. We don't make such films these days, and it takes a lot of courage to touch upon subjects as sensitive as Nati Binodini."
Shailendra Kum • Better known by her stage name ‘Pramila’, Esther Victoria Abraham belonged to an Iraqi-Jewish community and was born in Calcutta. She was the winner of the first Miss India pageant in 1947, while she was pregnant with her fifth child. Besides modelling, she was an actress, stuntwoman and film producer.
